Date: 2/14/11 2:49 PM I've read many many of the posts regarding the Janome 1000CPX and the Elna 444 - now I can't find one to buy!
There are multiple online dealers offering the Janome 900 for $399 - but absolutely no info regarding the 1000 CP or CPX.
Has anyone purchased one recently - late 2010 or later?
I'm very frustrated, and live in a very rural area of North Carolina - but driving distance to Wilmington and Raleigh.
Thanks for any advice. |

Date: 2/14/11 5:17 PM It was my understanding that dealers could not sell them new online per Janome. Back when the 900 was still in production, I was able to buy a display model on ebay. Perhaps you can try calling some shops to see if they'll sell you display or traded in models over the phone, should you be okay with a used one. ------ http://sweetnotions.blogspot.com/ |

Date: 2/15/11 1:22 PM I'm in Raleigh. I just sent you a message about the dealer I used for my 1000CPX. Do you come to Raleigh often? We have a sewing group that you might be interested in joining. |

Date: 2/16/11 1:23 AM Janome dealers are allowed to sell the 900cpx online or via the phone without a problem. Calling tends to get you a lower price. I got pricing on these about a month ago, and pretty much every dealer I called (in various parts of the country) all gave me the same price: $349 (even those who had a $399 price on their web site). That price was out the door, including shipping and insurance.
Trying to get a 1000cpx is slightly more difficult, but not much more so if you know someone who lives near to the dealer you are calling. To sell the 1000cpx, dealers need to have someone physically come into the store. So, I spoke to a number of my family members and friends in other cities and asked them if they would be willing to go by the sewing machine store if I decided to buy a machine from them. I then called those stores and told them what I was looking for, and who would go by the store if I decided to purchase the machine from them (I would still pay for the machine with my credit card). This solved the problem with the dealer's contract with Janome as it met their requirements. The price I got for the 1000cpx from a number of stores that I called was $450 (again, out the door).
One thing to keep in mind is that I was able to get these lower prices because the dealers would not need to provide a whole lot of support since I was out of state. A local dealer who provides support (such as classes, etc.) will most likely charge more (understandably so, and, IMHO, worth it IF it's a good dealer--I have no local dealer).
I hope this helps. Good luck! |

Subject: Raleigh dealers - Janome 1000 cpx Date: 11/3/11 1:49 PM Hi!
I live in Durham and am interested in buying a 1000CPX. Could you PM me the info on the dealer you used, too? So far, the lowest quote I've gotten is $638 from Harbour's.
