Has anyone seen a pattern with the back of a dress very similar to this?
I just came across it, and am wowed and in love!

It is the Diamond Horseshoe by Elizabeth Hawes.
Just wondering if anyone had seen a pattern similar to the back on it, the front style doesn't bother me, I just am in awe of the back!

There was an article in Threads recently about slashing a pattern and adding seaming to get that exact effect!

Isn't it incredible. I want something like this as my wedding dress.
I'm wondering if I do a small version, get it to look right, and then work out how to work it into a larger size. It's so beautiful. And elegant.
Either my wedding dress, or my get skinny and have this as my I did it dress, whatever comes first LOL

Do you have any idea of what issue of Threads it was in? I've managed to find Threads at only one store in town here, so would most likely have to buy it off Ebay if it's a previous issue.

You can buy many of the older issues directly from Taunton Press and many of the articles can be read online. www.taunton.com

I'll flip through the stack and see if I can find it. I only have about six issues total, from 2007-present.

ETA: These are the issues I know I have, offhand. You might check your library for bound back issues.

140 Dec 2008/Jan 2009
146 Dec 2009/Jan 2010
148 April/May 2010 (this one has a promising article called "Seams on Stage" that might have been it.)

I also have Dec 2010/Jan 11 and Feb/March 2011, but the one I'm thinking of was older.
