OK. I have a Janome 350e and I have never used a usb with it and for the life of me I can't figure it out. I know I am supposed to set it up on my machine before I use it but It won't work for me. When I got to the screen to set it up and then insert the usb stick I get the screen with X's on the power button, usb stick, and card. (Hard to desribe) Can anyone help me through this? The manual is not much help. And I have tried two different usb sticks. I am so confused.

Don't use a usb stick that is more than 1 or 2 Giga bites. Make sure the machine has formatted the usb by checking on you computer (should have 2 folder one the say Emb and Ord I think or something similar it may have numbers) The X i think you referring is your not suppose to turn the machine off when it's loading. I get it when I use my ATA card. If your still not sure I would recommend going to your dealer for assistance if you still unsure.

I use a 4 G stick on my 200e. I just don't load it up with more than a couple patterns at a time. I confess I had an awful time getting it to work when I first got the machine. There's a way (I'm sorry, I don't remember how) of formatting the stick in the machine before you put designs on it, and once I did that, it worked fine.

You will see that screen when you insert the USB or CF card and touch the appropriate button on the screen. The machine is trying to read either external source and that screen will go away once it is done detecting/reading it. Do not remove your USB stick or CF card while this screen is on! Do not turn your machine off when this screen is on either. Just let it do it's thing...it does not take long for it to be read.

Have you formatted your card in the machine? You need to insert the USB stick and go into your SETUP section. Scroll through the pages until you see the format screen. Touch the one for the USB stick. It will format it to use in the 350E and add folders to it where you place your designs. It needs formatted prior to using it with the 350E.

Also, it is highly recommended to use a USB stick under 1 GB, preferably a 512MB USB stick. Why? Because if you store a lot of designs on it, it will take the computer in the 350E a long time to read it. The fewer designs on it the better. Store your designs on your computer and a back up source such as a larger USB stick or external hard drive. Hope this helps!

I'm having the same problem. I have a 350E and I'm using a Janome memory stick I bought with my machine. I formatted the memory stick on my machine and I saved my deisgns to the My Designs folder on the memory stick and it still won't work. When I put the stick in my machine, the My Designs folder comes up but when I press it a blank screen comes up. Can someone PLEASE help me???

Make sure the designs are in JEF format (sometimes they need to be unzipped, first), and their size doesn't exceed hoop B (140 x 200 mm).
