I know next to nothing about patterns for kids, but my nephew has asked me to sew him a peacoat (just like his dad's).

Does anyone know where a pattern might be had? There is a blazer pattern available from Burda which I suppose I could redraft the front, but that is not an entirely appetizing prospect!

I don't know anything at all about childrens patterns, except for the occasional shirt that I sew for the little guy.

Hey Michelle! Oliver+S has a cute little boys' peacoat (what age are you looking for? This one is size 4-8)
Oliver+S School Days jacket

I made my son this dress coat from this etsy pattern

Hope that helps!

Thank you! I will check out the Oliver+S pattern...He is 10, but he is so skinny I use smaller patterns and just lengthen them for him.

I bought Ottobre 6/2010 just for boy's peacoat. (have not sewn, but I think it's going be an excellent pattern.)

Burda style, the magazine has had peacoats for boys in the recent past, so if you have access to the magazines take a look. You might try the Burdastyle site to see if they chose one to offer as a downloadable pattern. I noticed it because I want to make one for my grandson when he is a bit older.

Bumping because I'm suddenly obsessed with the idea of making my son a pea coat. The Oliver and S School Days coat is a duffle and only goes up to size 8, which he already is. I found This Burda girls one but I don't see why it couldn't be for a boy too. Obviously without the ruffle.after all, aren't pea coats unisex?

There is a cute one by independent company Oliver and Olivia but it also only ones to size 8. I also have been burned by these small pattern makers, so I'm hesitant.
