I have been away overseas and just discovered ...
(pardon me if there is already a post somewhere)

This clever Seam Allowance Guide that attaches magnetically to scissors to easily add the seam allowance while you cut out your fabric.
The SA width can be adjusted to suit any size seam allowance and there are two guides to suit different shape scissors. Right or Left handed scissors included.

I have ordered one - $15 could save me a lot of time !!!

Has anyone tried these?

Michelle, I really liked the video and tutorial on how to use the SAGuide.
Apparently there is a tute on BurdaStyle too, but I have yet to find it.

I should have my SAG later this week and will be looking forward to using it.
I always cut with scissors and it looks super easy to use....just move the band to the required seam allowance.

Marina,

I can't post to your blog unless I am a blogger myself, is that right?

I know this thread is old, but I wondered if anyone eventually did try this seam allowance guide and could tell us what you think. I read a review somewhere else that mentioned the magnetic guides did not adhere well to Kai scissors because of the slope of the blade.

I would appreciate thoughts from anyone about this product.
Thanks

I remember that Melissa at Fehr Trade has them and really liked them. Here's a post where she mentions them.

I use them on Ghinger scissors and I have mixed results.

Some of it is being left handed, they tend to slip if I'm not careful, and I have to cut in a way that is counter intuitive to me.

Someone else that uses them that is right handed loves them and swears by it.

They're okay, lol. I use my SA more often.
