Date: 6/12/11 4:05 PM I noticed there are many on sale on the secondary market. Is there a new model or something coming out? I remember Pfaff having such a stellar reputation in that people were unwilling to sell certain models like the 7570 and earlier. It is strange to see the TOL fairly recent models up for sale. |

Date: 6/12/11 5:29 PM Rumor has it that there is a new model coming out this fall. I just got the Creative Vision 5.5 for my birthday. I am trying to decide what I want to do with my 2144/2170. I figure the longer I wait to sell it, the less I will get for it, but it is nice to have a back up or second machine sometimes. I know I won't get what it is worth...love that machine. |

Date: 6/12/11 5:42 PM I've noticed that, too! It seems like more 2140/2170s are available than 75xx series machines. ------ 🌸 Plenty of machines, mostly Berninas 🌸 |

Date: 6/12/11 8:55 PM There might be more out there. Because everyone wants the usb one's . You don't need to hook up the computer to the machine to transfer files to embroider.I like my 2140/2170 machine. It does everthing from sewing fine fabric to sewing leather. Since every other sewing dealer company has come out with a new machine. Maybe pfaff is due for a new one too. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Date: 10/3/11 12:26 PM I was hoping that Pfaff would come out with a new line-up INCLUDING a new body - or a larger bed to compeate with the size of the Horizon/830-20 but, Im guessing the new sensation would have introduced that if it was comming? Who Knows?
I also got the impression from the Viking dealer that a new sapphire line up was in the works. ------ Drag queen quilter! |

Date: 10/3/11 12:51 PM Pfaff has several 10" harp machines, all the Expressions and Creative line, so 6+ machines. The Sensation has 10" also, doesn't it? Used to be the largest harp on a DSM was a Pfaff until the Janome Horizon and Bernina 8 series. And it seems that for every quilter after that space to the right of the needle, there's another sewist who doesn't want to give up the space on her table or cabinet, or deal with the added weight. ------ 🌸 Plenty of machines, mostly Berninas 🌸 |

Date: 10/3/11 6:36 PM Yes, I guess that true about the 10 inch space. I guess table space is a good point, too.
I love the way that the expression and creative lines look. They are my most loved looking machines, really.
I guess, it just seems like for 2000.00 there is so much more Janome Horizon than the Pfaff expression 4.0. And, though I am WAY not in the market for a TOL it seems like for the money other brands have more "stuff" on them for around the same price as the sensation.
Ive spent some time looking at the embroideries on the different websites - VSM does seem to have the ones I like best. ------ Drag queen quilter! |

Date: 10/8/11 4:38 PM Personally, I would stay away from purchasing an "older" computerized embroidery machine unless it is a very good price and you are ready to factor in a few or more hundred for repairs. I have a 2140 that had an intermittent power up problem but would turn on after a couple of tries, it worked okay then I unplugged it and did not sew for 6 weeks during the summer...plugged it in and it has the flick, flick, flick of death. The repair shop said it is the power base and will be about 500. for repair, I have been doing some research and it may be the 2170 update was incompatible with my board all along..... |

Date: 2/4/13 5:43 PM I purchased a 2170 with all the bells and whistles 2 years ago. I used it primarly for regular sewing. When I finally decided to embroidery on it the motor burned out after the second time I used it. It will cost $800 to repair. The company more or less says, "Tough luck." I learned a very expensive lesson. Be sure to try out all features of the machine or else purchase a service plan. I don't think I will be a future Pfaff customer. |
