Oh my.. I have been logged out of PR for several weeks now.. on orders from my DH . I have been able to read the first page of the threads but not much else. Wouldn't have helped to reset my password as really. I have been too ill to post or respond much to PMs. In fact I have even been putting my private yahoo emials on the back burner.
Somedays are better than others of course. but all in all by the time I do those few things that have to be done I have had no energy left to post or do much else for that matter.
I have several threads bookmarked to read.. and really missed posting on several others.
Most of you know as I did post this on the chatting thread.. but that thread is now not making an appearance much.. and of course not everyone reads it.
I made it a point this year for us.. my DH and I to have really good physicals, get all the dental work done.. new eye glasses and so on.. Alas, in that physical it was found I had both kidney stones. and gallstones. Now I knew I was having some sort of problem on and off.. but it seemed to go away .. but would always return. And the symptoms were so common to some one would have in the course of everyday lifes up and downs ... health wise.
I wish I had had them checked sooner.. as now as I await my surgery next week.. I am quite ill.
Here is something to contemplate. My surgeon says that many people have gallstones.. but because their symptoms are constant.. or because they don't cause them much discomfort.. they never even know it.. And of course. not all necessarily will burst or such . And so one can have gallstones and never have them removed with no problem. And I have heard many reports on people who had emergency surgery with no prior symptoms to know they had problems.
Learn to Sew Pm'd me with something interesting on this.. I hope she post it here to share with all of you.
I choose the 6th of July to have my surgery.. My thought being it would be so HOT in July that I would not be doing much work anyhow... I hope Father is around then.. This is my first surgery btw.. and I am a bit .. well... chicken.....
I do deeply appreciate all the kind emails and PMs I have received.. You all know without saying I miss you all terribly..
Oh.. did I mention.. down in weight to l20 pounds.. In fact thought about waiting another month to see if I could get to ll0.. I DO NOT recommend this diet...
to all of you.. please keep me in your prayers next week..
Now get busy sewing me a new wardrobe please.. |

Date: 6/30/11 8:30 AM Wow, PPL, and here I thought you'd been captured...or visiting one of us PR members for a holiday or something. I was waiting for your pink pig mobilehome to show up on my South 40.
Sounds like your magnesium levels were low. Maybe you drink a lot of soda? I had a 27 year old student who had gall bladder surgery. She was in and out in one day and back to class after the weekend. As to kidney stones, UGH! I passed a couple of those a while back and then upped my magnesium, per my holistic doctor's orders. I don't drink soda but I like sugar.

Date: 6/30/11 8:41 AM Oh Poorpigling, I'm sorry this is happening to you, but I'm glad you are having it taken care of. Just think the smaller you get, the more you can get out of one yard of fabric:)
You will be in my prayers, and we look forward to a happy Christmas story from you. ------ "A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.”

Date: 6/30/11 9:05 AM I had gall bladder problems for years but didn't know it. I thought it was a bad back. It got so bad at the end that I lost almost 50 pounds 4 months.
The surgury went so well for me that I was mad at myself for waiting so long to get it taken care of. The one thing though, if you are having laparoscopy, they will tell you to get up and walk after the surgery. Walk as much as you can (and unless you had problems walking for other reasons before surgery, you'll be able to walk no problems after surgury). Also, make sure your gall ballder isn't inflamed before you go in. Which means a low fat diet for a few days prior -- or whatever it is that triggers your attacks. It should go well for you and you'll be up and walking 10 minutes after you wake up for surgery. ------ http://theramblingsoftcm.blogspot.com/

Date: 6/30/11 9:40 AM My mother had her gallbladder out almost 30 years ago, and it all went very well. They probably have better procedures today (laparoscopic [sp]?). It's good you found out now, and not in the middle of a trip somewhere far away from home. ((Hugs)) |

Date: 6/30/11 9:43 AM Oh, poorpigling, I hope you can stay calm and relatively happy as you await surgery. It *is* scary to wait for elective surgery but you know, it is just a super expensive nap and then some drugs.
I'll be thinking of you and looking forward to your posting again. ------ my blog: http://kf-biblioblog.blogspot.com/
