Fabric for "Jeggings"

Where can I get it and what % spandex, etc. If anyone has a good pair of RTW ones, could you check the fiber content on the tag? The new Ottobre design issue has jegging patterns for kids & I'd love to make some for my tall, lanky kindergartener. I expected it to be a knit, but it's a lightweight twill woven. I've seen some denim-look knits at Emma One Sock that I think would make nice jeggings, but I've only seen it on-line so I'm not sure of the weight. Maybe that would work, too. I'll look at emma, too! Just checked.......Emma One Sock has a few they suggest, with 4-way stretch! It is As or MORE stretchy than swimwear. It's pink so not what you're looking for. I don't know how you will find this online without a stretch test with your hands. I did a little Google searching with no luck. The denim I use for regular stretch jeans is about 97/3 and would not work for jeggings. ------ Barb "I have not failed. I would love jeggings to wear under tunics an short dresses but I'm too tall and thick-legged for RTW, they end up stopping a little above my ankle which is, IMO, a hideous look (pasty, stout ankles, how I hate thee) ------ messymethodsewing.wordpress.com

There are still 40 yards available, so ask for a swatch. It's about 1/2 the price. don't know about the quality. ------ Too much fabric to count...
