Date: 7/8/11 3:03 PM As we all know most patterns are based on a B cup bust size. I wear a I cup.
I hate having to do FBA's especially since even the largest plus size patterns out there usually don't correlate with my bust measurements.
I have found ONE pattern company that based their patterns on a D cup and really she gives so much ease it's often larger as I rarely if ever have to do a FBA and her stuff fits me with out one! So I am really interested if there is any companies out there that I don't know about that also base their patterns on a D cup or larger bust size. ------ Visit my blog http://www.heathersprairie.blogspot.com |

Date: 7/8/11 3:24 PM Burda Magazine Plus does base their patterns on a D cup. The 'regular' pattens use a C cup.
I also hate making FBAs, so I lean to Burda. I think Collete and Hot Patterns may also be in the C range. ------ Cidell

Date: 7/8/11 3:26 PM The big 4 companies offer a selection of patterns with separate pieces for A,B,C, or D cups. Vogue, Butterick, and McCalls has them intermixed with the regular patterns. Simplicity has a special collection: http://www.simplicity.com/c-377-a-b-c-d-cup-sizes.aspx
HotPatterns varies their cup size based on the pattern size with larger sizes using a C/D or higher cup.
I don't know anyone who goes up to I.
Hope it helps. |

Date: 7/8/11 3:26 PM I am a DD, and never have to do FBAs with Hot Patterns. I suspect that not only to they start with a larger cup size, but that increases as the sizes go up. ------ Michelle

Date: 7/8/11 3:30 PM HotPatterns are not only drafted for larger cup sizes (especially in the larger sizes), but many of their styles are flattering on busty women. ------ --Michelle

Date: 7/8/11 5:22 PM Thank you for starting this topic. I've just started playing with the Very Easy Vogue CustomFit for A, B, C, D cup sizes. I haven't been able to search them with CustomFit but think I have found most of them in the Very Easy section. ------ I have no idea what Apple thought I was saying so be a Peach and credit anything bizarre to auto correct. |

Date: 7/8/11 7:15 PM I'm a 34 G and buy just about every one of the ABCD option type patterns they come out with. I'm so glad to see them increasing the selections each time. McCalls and Vogue both had a bunch of them recently. I can generally do a 14 or 16 D cup pattern and not have to do an FBA even though I'm much larger than a D.
Colette Patterns too I agree are great for full busted women and very flattering. ------ http://kimsewsilly.blogspot.com/ |

Date: 7/9/11 0:15 AM The Butterick Connie Crawford line is designed for fuller cup sizes. She has a blouse for that has fronts with different sized darts up to DD. It's 5300. I've also had good luck with her T shirt 5212, average fit.
Silhouette patterns also come in cup sizes. ------ My grandmother taught me to sew when I was 10, and I've been sewing ever since. |
