Subject: Has anyone started working on their craft fair sewing for the fall? Date: 7/29/11 8:27 PM I saw these adorably cute linen kitchen towels w/funny sayings embroidered on them. The bottom edge was finished w/those little fuzz balls. I am starting w/six then I will tally out my expenditures to determine a price. The ones I saw at a gift shop were $14 each. The other items are quilted handbags and some smaller half moon ones that are more trendy. Its all in the fabric choices I think.
Edited for terrible typos.Sorry.

Date: 7/29/11 10:23 PM I went and got the list for this year. My fair doesn't actually have any clothing as a category, the closest I can get is aprons. Maybe I'll have a go at an apron since there is a special category for BBQ Apron. I've still got that meat fabric from the Montreal PR weekend, this might be the opportunity |

Date: 7/30/11 9:18 AM I did 3 church fairs last season and am bowing out this year.
Lots of lookers but no buyers for a variety of things, including candles, woodworking, home decor. Among 200 vendors, I only saw a few buying jewelry for Christmas giving and the quick fleece sports pillows for guys, cuz you don't know what else to get them. Most said they were lucky to make up their entrance fees.
It's the economy, which doesn't look much better this year....

Date: 7/30/11 9:58 AM I may have dodged the bullet this year. The fair / Fall Market I was planning to participate in was cancelled last month when they failed to get leadership for the market from the organization who normally sponsors it. I'll focus on my custom orders and won't be stuck with a lot of unsold inventory at the end of the season.... ------ Debora, of Chicago and Frankfurt

Date: 7/30/11 3:19 PM LOL. I misread the topic. I thought it was about entering stuff in fall fairs, eg, the "Homecraft" categories for ribbons and bragging rights. Sorry about that!

Date: 7/30/11 10:15 PM Yeh, I hear you Indiana. I had a couple of poor fair outcomes last year too. I really do hope this year is better. I think people are starting to buy more. I do havre a bunch of stock from last year stored in plastic crates and taking up spacein my guest room.

Date: 11/2/11 9:46 PM Quick update. I didmy first craft fair last weekend and I was quite surprised to see people actually buying. Of coursr the lower end price and unusual items went first.
