Date: 8/1/11 2:27 AM Does anyone here belong to a Necchi Nora? I'm wondering a couple of things. I want to know if it is considered a "good" machine and also I want to know if the presser foot lifts up high like the Necchi Mira. Does anyone know?
Wondering if Pigling has this machine. It IS pink!! |

Did I hear PINK ??
I haven't heard anything bad at all about the older Necchi.. But as with all vintage machines you have to determine if parts would still be available.. and their current condition. However, even if parts are no longer available.. if the machine is in tip top shape and sews fine etc.. and is a bargain price I would buy it.. often times parts can be located or some techs have old parts in their stockrooms.. So if a machine catches your eye.. and why would it not being PINK.. then I say if you like the way it sews go for it..
Please notice I have not addressed specifically this model.. It seems to me that there may be a review on it.. In any case, I am sure a member who is Necchi lover will come along to answer your questions sometime soon.
I JUST LOVE these colorful older machines.. and if you keep an eye out there are many offbeat colors out there.. and a lot of PINK.. Bel Air made a PINK.. White made a PINK and so on.. and then there are the other colors.. Tholtz had a brown that was to die for.. Most of these older machines are GOOD machines. some would say much much better than the newer machines.. Certainly most have more power in their motors.. a heavier metal casing that will not crack..and so on. And of course. no computer brain to fry out.
I have a few vintage machines.. just not this one.. |

Date: 8/1/11 1:03 PM Thanks! I looked and could not find any reviews on it. I'm not that great at the search engine here on this site so I could have missed something but I did indeed look.
I'll check out the machine and see how it sews and what condition it is in. I doubt it's what I want because I've been WISHING so hard for a good, old, Necchi and then there it is. And PINK??? It's too good to be true if you know what I mean. I'm just not lucky like that.
I'll let you know how it goes. Hope to see it today. |

Don't use the search engines here.. I can never get responses from the search engines.. Just click on machine reviews.. then the Necchi.. or whatever brand you want to review.. then scroll down looking at the machine model numbers.. You may find it that way..
The same holds true for finding threads.. If you are looking for a certain thread in Misc.. for instance.. just click on the misc.. and scroll down the column till you locate the thread or the subject you are looking for.. I can't even get my own threads to come up using the search engine.. Its most interesting anyhow to review all the thread titles.. and the archives.. You might find another thread you had missed in the past in which you might be interested in doing it that way.. |

Date: 8/1/11 10:55 PM I GOT IT!! It's in amazingly great shape. QUIET! PINK! My kind of machine .
It does indeed look exactly like that photo! I hadn't seen a photo of the Nora before this one cropped up on CL last night. It came with ALL KINDS of stuff. All kinds of feet. All kinds of cams. And a bunch of other stuff. It runs and sews very well.
I do need a new belt for it. Do I just get a regular belt? Or do I need a special one?
Thanks Pigling for the search hints. I've done it that same way but sometimes it's overwhelming how many Singer machines or Brothers there are that have been reviewed and frustrating to try to find a particular model with so many reviews. I wish I could narrow it down. I had no problem finding the Juki because there are not that many. I'll search Necchi that way now. I may have done that last night but don't remember. |

Date: 1/21/12 8:51 PM Hi, I am new to this place! I am looking at a pink Necchi Nora tomorrow! I can't wait! It looks to be in great condition, but seeing it in person will verify that. It is in a cabinet and he said, "Very heavy", so be prepared. I will let you know if I get it and how I like it.
I have been sewing since I was five...so that makes it over 50 years for me! |

Date: 1/22/12 6:25 PM Great! I can't remember what I was told to check on while looking the machine over. Something about the two speeds and also something to do with the cover where the light is...???? I'll go look mine over or try to find where I found that info in the first place.
I don't use mine because I have a Juki F600 set up but I'm in the mood to switch machines and was thinking of setting that one up or my Featherweight. |
