A new cake? it's SO PURPLE! lol
SewVeryTall Advanced NE USA Member since 3/2/04 Posts: 2073	Login to reply to this post Like this post Date: 2/23/05 5:23 AM I'm betting most of you have made the chocolate cherry cake that's so easy...only 3 ingredients...a chocolate cake mix, 3 eggs, and a can of cherry pie filling. It's a very good, moist cake. Well, I decided to try substituting...used a vanilla cake mix, 3 eggs, and a can of blueberry pie filling. Talk about PURPLE...oh my...lol, but it is SO good. It bakes at 350ºF. I made a cream cheese frosting to top it [I'm just thinking, I could've tinted the frosting with a drop of blue and red food coloring, to make it lavendar]. ------ Ardis the lefthanded daughter of a lefthanded mother

Noreend...you're welcome. Yours should turn out a to be a really pretty red cake. I've never seen raspberry pie filling in the stores, where did you find it? Becky...another variation I've seen is spice cake mix with a can of apple pie filling. Made cream cheese frosting....this is wonderful! The cake is really moist, excellent flavor. I think I'd like mine to be even deeper purple (ds's football team colors are purple and black), so I'll add food coloring to the next one. Thanks for the great idea!
