There must be a few PatternReviewers here in the Bay Area. Let's chat and share resources.  I'm so jealous of those who live in the Boston area.  They even got together for a potluck!Calling all Left Coast sewing enthusiasts and fabric collectors.

Georgene,

I'm left coast, but in the Los Angeles Basin (Long Beach, to be precise).

My son, however, is in Windsor, just above Santa Rosa and I do visit him from time to time. :)  He works in Danville and his dad is in Livermore, so a bit of commuting around the area is no problem whatsoever.  I'm sure he'd even let me use his kitchen if I needed to fix something for a pot luck!  Count me in! :D

georgene and others,

PatternReview's strength is its Community and I really want to be able to help sewers get together.

I added a nifty feature to the profile popup. When you click on the state or the country (not advisable for USA cause you'll get 2000 results ;) ) you can see the list of other members who live in the same region. I do not display the e-mail addresses of members to protect their privacy but I have been thinking about some kind a private messenger thing for the site also.

Thanks for the tip Deepika.  For some on the East Coast I suppose sewists from 2 or 3 states could get together, the distance is not so far!

Shirley, it would be great if you would come up for the Greater Bay Area Patternreview Potluck. I hope that other members and friends will join in and it will be more than the 3 of us.....

I'm serious, don't know about the rest of the others hiding under rocks out here in the Bay Area!  I imagine it would have to be after the holidays as everyone is now getting geared up for cooking, shopping, wrapping, and maybe even some sewing in between.  It would be just the thing to rev us up  in the beginning of the year, when we are all recovered.  Any others want to meet, share some food and stories?  Possibly a fabric swap or a show and tell?

I'm in Pleasanton--count me in for a potluck! I like after the new year timing, too.

I like the idea of a potluck after the holidays. A fabric (and pattern?) swap and show and tell would be really fun too. If we were done our remodelling, I'd invite everyone over but at the rate we're going (we're doing it all ourselves), the summer is probably the soonest. :(

So the question then is - who wants to join in and where could we gather?  Then the next difficulty is finding a suitable time.
