Date: 9/23/11 12:52 PM Wow. Although I haven't seen it in a few years, I watched that show since high school - when I think Erica Kane was in high school and she only had one last name!
I've only seen the demise of one other soap and that was The Secret Storm (yeah I REALLY aged myself now!). The last episode was amazing - they wrapped up all the storylines in a neat little package in a half hour. Hope they do the same with AMC. ------ Sewing is my therapy! |

Date: 9/23/11 2:09 PM My Mom & I used to watch Edge of Night after school every day for a very long time. Mom was sad to see Guiding Light go off the air too.
Well I did watch AMC & now wonder who got shot at the end. .... of course it would not be All My Children without a final cliff hanger.
When does OLTL go off the air ... is it December? ------ I am a gal from Kalamazoo.... oh what a gal... smile.... It is in Michigan... la la la ...love that Glen Miller classic!

Date: 9/23/11 2:17 PM Well, I am glad Agnes Nixon wrote a so-so ending....that is exactly what Disney/ABC deserved. The show was never the same after Disney took control of ABC.
Loved that they focused on the current cast and didn't make it a big homecoming for previous characters....although it would have been fun.
I loved the children at the beginning...nice to think of them. |

Date: 9/23/11 2:23 PM I think OLTL ends in January 2012.
Well, we can guess Erica took the bullet and never made it to Hollywood.
I'm sure everyone caught the irony in Brooke getting a proposal and Erica being rejected.
Brooke was always the one left waiting when she and Erica were teens!

Date: 9/23/11 4:46 PM I watched this show when I was a child and a young adult. My mother used to watch it so I would when I was home sick on off school days. When I was a young mother I stayed home with my kids sort of, I took college classes and stayed home. One day I had to go out and stat a career and so that was the last time I watched all my Children, and General Hospital. How life changes and now its not there anymore so there are no more chances. It has always been there my whole life. Someone would have it on in the break room and you would see it for a moment or two. |

Date: 9/23/11 4:47 PM I use to watch this as a teenager. Once I got married, I kinda lost track of it. Loved Erica! It's probably been about 20 years ago since I've watched it...lots of changes I'm sure. One thing about AMC(as with most soapy's), I could go months without watching it, and pick up right were I left off! Does anyone remember Dark Shadows? That was a must-see for my sister and I, when we got home from school. |
