Date: 10/3/11 1:12 PM Hello fellow New Yorkers. Anyone interested in helping put together a PR Day for November 19th?? I live in Upstate NY but can get to the city if that's where someone is that wants to help with this. Otherwise, anyone near the Twin Tiers area??

Date: 10/12/11 10:25 AM Hi Laura, So what are you thinking?? Are you familiar with the city? I have been there several times but my hubby is always my tour guide (i'm directionally impaired at best! Lol). I love the Garment District! Whatever thoughts you have, please share. Thanks, Andrea |

Date: 10/12/11 11:39 PM Hi there -
well being rather new to this group, and a "reborn" sewer, I might just know enough to be dangerous!
Here are a few ideas - consider these a total brainstorm:
- shop the garment district fabrics and notions (would be great to have someone who really knows the people and places - I have a list but by no means an expert on those places).
- take a class. No idea on viability of this - but I did recently buy Diana Rupp's online sewing class - it was truly amazing- she is a great instructor and has a teaching/workshop location on the lower east side.
- maybe there's an interesting exhibit - Parson's, FIT, museums - an idea.
All of the above would be too much for one day - but some food for thought. What were you thinking of? ------ Laura H. |

Date: 10/14/11 8:03 AM Personally I love the class idea, and of course Garment District shopping. I'll look into a one day class to see if there is anything available. If not, than shopping it is. (And yummy food). |

Date: 11/9/11 7:27 AM Hi there,
Well it looks like we don't have enough interest in the NYC PR Day so I will not be planning a trip there on the 19th. Too bad, the class looked fun. Maybe next year. Thanks for showing interest. Have a great day!! |
