Has anyone tried the new Knook? Combination of knitting & crocheting & looks knitted

Nook... it is crochet hook on one end & pointed on the other with slot for chord. .......... Anyone try it? Is it easier on the hands than regular knitting? I do the English style so called throwing the yarn & have not been able to adjust to Continental knitting. So what do you think those of you who are doing it? Date: 10/23/11 8:22 PM very interesting! I have given up knitting and crochet because it is so hard on my hands. There are other reasons, too: I don't have much time anymore, and sewing seems to go faster; I had to narrow down my hobbies because of lack of time. However, I am very intrigued by knitting, and I really admire ppl who do it and complete projects. I'll never regret learning how to do it. ------ http://sewtarot.blogspot.com/

Crochooked Expert/Couture PA USA Member since 12/1/11 Posts: 1	Login to reply to this post Like this post Date: 12/3/11 3:01 AM I have been doing some exploring the knook for about a month. I'm an avid crocheter (50 years). I learned to knit as a child, but I don't do very much. I do like to swatch some simple stitch patterns in knit, and then translate that to Tunisian crochet. I find that the knook is a little easier to do than knitting (for me), because you use the crochet hook to catch the yarn. The stitches made are true knit stitches, not similar to knitting, as the Tunisian stitches are. The cord which acts as a "second needle" holding your active stitches, can also be utilized in the row below as a lifeline. I find that I have fewer dropped stitches. If you're an intermediate knitter, I don't think you'd find any need to use the knook. If you don't knit, for whatever reason, but love the look. You might want to experiment. I find using the knook to be slightly faster than knitting, but no where near as fast as crocheting.
