Date: 11/3/11 1:12 PM I will be moving to e Camarillo area within 6-9 months. Just wondering if any of my PR family is there? Want to share the areas best resources? I now live 5 minutes from the fashion district in downtown LA, and know that I can easily get back. But, what if I need a faster zipper/thread? Are there any fabulous places for sewing to explore in Ventura county?
Thanks !

Date: 11/4/11 12:47 PM Well, first off, I don't live in Ventura county. In fact I live on the ther end of LA county; however, there is an active sewing group in that area that you may want to contact. ASG-Los Angeles has a Neighborhood Group in Ventura. If you go to the website: www.asgla.org and click on Neighborhood Groups you 'll see when they meet and where. Hope this helps. ------ Kemish |

Date: 1/7/12 3:26 AM Hi Raye Ann,
I'm in Ventura county but in Simi Valley. The sewing store options are pretty slim around the Eastern side of the county. I shop mostly online. Besides the Joann's for basic notions, I've shopped a few home dec fabric stores. None are too impressive. I like the Baron's fabric in Woodland Hills. A small selection of fashion fabrics but I'd rather have few quality choices than a hundred fabrics I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole. They have a nice selection of trims and buttons. Also like their one of a kind sample cuts.
There's two ASGLA groups that are in Ventura county. One in Simi Valley at Kingdom Sewing and one in Woodland Hills at Baron's fabric. I plan to sit in on a few meeting before I consider joining. I have met a few ladies at conferences and every is very nice.
If you want to shop in LA, I'll be more than happy to join you. ------ www.lolitapatterns.com |
