I have the opportunity to purchase a new Bernina 1150MDA serger from a local dealer for $849.00, using the $150.00 Bernina promotional coupon just coming out.

Is this a GREAT deal or just a good one?

Thank you!

Wow, I wonder if that coupon will combine with the quilt show pricing in our area. The price stacks up with what I was quoted about a month ago.

Yes, I think so. Mine was $50 more than this and I used a $100 promotional coupon earlier this year.

Where would one find that coupon? I'm looking to get a serger for Christmas this year, but I could take an advance on my Christmas gift if I was able to get a great deal on one!

That does sound like a good price. The 1100MDA is a great serger.

Thank you for your responses!

If you are on a local dealer's mailing list, you should be getting the mailer within the next week. The $150.00 coupon applies to any new Bernina that is $999.00 or more.

I was hoping to hear that this was a DYNAMITE deal, as I do not need a serger and am VERY intimidated by the threading!

As a side note: I am also purchasing a classroom Aurora 430 from the same dealer for $1,699.00. I asked a question regarding that under a different topic: Aurora 430.

I am VERY new to this site, and am probably not posting my questions exactly where they should be posted.

I think this is an unbelievable deal! I paid more than that for mine four years ago! And I got a very good deal. If you buy it, you won't be sorry. This is an awesome serger!

I think that is a great deal. I have that serger; I bought it on CL from a private party. It is so quiet compared to many sergers and stitches great. I think the threading isn't bad to do, just watch your color codes. You will love this machine.

I bought this machine last summer. Love it and the threading is SUPER easy. I sat down in the shop to look at it for the first time and had it threaded in less than 2 minutes! I use this more than my regular machine and couldn't live without it! Let me be an enabler and tell you that you must have this machine!
