Date: 11/11/11 7:27 AM I like the two retro dresses and the retro swing coat (Bel wore a very similar one in The Hour recently), but that's all that excites me. ------ www.fehrtrade.com |

Date: 11/11/11 7:33 AM Yes, a bit raz* but I like 5708 the vintage knotted dress :

and 5707 for my mother:

The rest is pretty boring. I see several Plus Size patterns but more basics than anything to turn your head. ------ Fashion Maté, where I blog about what I (eventually) sew : http://fashionmate.blogspot.com

Date: 11/11/11 8:39 AM I agree, nothing really outstanding. And what's with the ruffles? Are those really "in" again? I'm too old for ruffles I guess if I had to choose, 5706 would be the one. It's classic, basic, not an empire style and it offers sleeve length variations |

The Retro dresses are cute but I probably wouldn't wear them. ------ http://kimsewsilly.blogspot.com/ |

Date: 11/11/11 12:45 PM 5712 is an interesting jacket. Why Butterick needs to sew it up in such an unflattering difficult fabric I can't imagine. It looks horrible on the model and the photoshop color change (yes, it's the same jacket, look at the bow, identical) is creepy.

The line drawings are more appealing. Look at the side panel that goes from waist to wrist, I like that. And pockets in the seams on view A and B.

It's a plain and boxy style jacket that could be really cute in the right fabric. A boucle sweater knit, a textured silk, even polar fleece. Anything interesting, just not that thin sateen Butterick used.
