Date: 11/13/11 9:48 PM I found this (too small for me) cute art deco jacket for $2 at a thrift store. It is a large and I wear an extra large. Just for fun, I tried it on...a no-go
So, I'm thinking refashion contest inspiration. I made some slippers that I could make with the fabric. The buttons are neat.

Date: 11/13/11 10:30 PM My first thought was a fancy clutch for going out. And maybe a belt. Could really accessorize a LBD nicely! :D ------ sewingonpins.blogspot.com |

The suggestion of clutch or hobo bag are both excellent.
Not knowing your lifestyle, here are a few other thoughts
Remove the embellishments and add them to another garment in a new design.
Cut the jacket into wide strips of fabric and add to the hem of a full skirt.
Or a fabulously impractical apron! Use the buttons to adorn the waistband.
Can't wait to see what you decide to do. ------ Blog: www.sharonsews.com

Date: 11/13/11 10:56 PM Didn't Shirley Adams have a feature on remaking art-to-wear garments into handbags in a recent magazine? Maybe Threads?
I think you're on the right track. You may get more than one thing from that piece! (I really like those slippers!) ------ blog: goodworks1.wordpress.com
