Date: 11/21/11 11:10 AM I'm looking for sites that sell prints suitable for children's clothing.
Anyone have any recommendations?
Thanks! |

Subject: Query for AUSTRALIANS - Fabrics for children's clothes Date: 11/22/11 11:41 AM Yes, I did do a search and now realise that I should have phrased my request differently.
What I perhaps should have said was whether any Australians have any online resources they use to source children's fabrics, particularly bold, bright and funky prints??
Because when looking at the resources that did come up I found that I was after something specific and that a lot of online US based shops have exhorbitant postage costs (eg. USD$75 for 5yds of fabric - eek!)
Thanks :)

Date: 11/22/11 2:46 PM You could try asking your question on the Sewing Down Under thread.
I don't buy fabric online, so don't have any personal favourites. Have you seen Crafty Mamas? ------ chris

Date: 11/28/11 9:59 AM Thanks MissChris.
I think I might just stick to the local craft stores. They may not have the best fabrics but at least the service is well mannered!

Subject: Fabrics for childrens clothes Date: 11/28/11 8:51 PM Nope, not a lot of online shops here.
There are a couple of eBay sellers, but I don't remember seeing much that matches your request.
I have heard that some of the independent fabric shops will help you out with samples & mail order, so I suggest you post on the Down Under thread & show some examples of what you like - we may be able to suggest shops that have that style.

Date: 11/29/11 7:12 AM Japan has darling kids fabrics that show up some places online here.
Wondering if postage from there might be less than from the US? |

Date: 12/27/11 3:48 AM I haven't ordered in a while but Chez Ami in the USA has great prices, compensating for the postage.
Last I ordered during a sale, with postage it worked out to be about AUD 10/yd which is still cheaper than most 1/2 decent fabric here.
I've heard good things about Girl Charlee too, they work with you to minimize postage etc, but haven't ordered.
I've had good service from Crafty Mamas, so maybe it was a fluke?
