Hi all.....I have been out of sewing for a while but now need to make a couple of shirts. I have used the Lutterloh system before so found this pattern in the stash....

But the collar and front facing has me bamboozled. Should I be cutting a separate facing ? The pattern piece doesn't seem to be the sort of facing that goes to the shoulder yet when I look at the drawing the top corner of the facing doesn't contain the collar? Could any one send me to a link that might explain the process?
many thanks
Jan

That is a seriously nice shirt. I love the sleeves on 182.

I'm not seeing what you are seeing. I don't think there is a facing that goes from CF to shoulder. It's got a band at the front center and the collar just sits on the neckline edge.

Press under seam allowance on non interfaced piece and trim to 1/4 inch. Sew the collar together leaving the neck side free. Sew the collar to the neck of the blouse, leaving the already pressed side free. Clip curve and trim. Press SA toward the collar. Hand stitch the pressed steam over the neck edge. Voila, collar with no facing.

Here is a link to a Lutterloh collared blouse without a stand explanation, as in your pattern:

March 2010 Newsletter collar tutorial

You might want to take down the actual pattern piece you have there on your post - Lutterloh doesn't want the patterns themselves posted on the web at all.
