I wish people would quit having gunfights in the streets in my neighborhood. It just ruins the peace and quiet.

Sounds like it's time to make a Superhero Outfit, and get out there and kick kiester, take names, and look good in spandex OR, move.

I would not like that either. We moved from a place a few years back because it was too much violence & drugs for me!
I hope it stops soon Al!

Ah yes, the memories! And for me to think of the added nuisance of helicopters flying overhead, looking for suspects and shining their searchlights in your bedroom windows in the wee hours of morning...Yes, I remember.

Now it's the light of gas wells flaring (flames) and the roaring thunder of gas and air, permeating the atmosphere with its jet engine sound, coming out from over 1 mile below the earth's surface,. And the hope that all goes well.... In either case, nothing can be done.

Been there and done that (without so much gunfire), but it's much quieter where we're at now. Doesn't sound like something you need to deal with.

I always thought the helicopters were the most interesting part.. Wonder what they thought as they looked down in our yards seeing us all staring up at them.

For me.. its the sirens I hate.. when and if any cops bother to show up.. the dogs hate the sirens.. and begin wailing.. talk about ruining the peace and quiet.. Whereas the sound of the helicopter blades takes me back to our military days.. as sounds relaxing to me. Miss the jet engines too btw..

Darn. now I am homesick.

I guess I'm lucky. When the SWAT team surrounded our neighbor's house a few years back they did it quietly.

Well we don't live in the city (Baltimore) anymore but still have the helicopters here and there. Not to mention we don't live that far from Aberdeen Proving ground and Martin state airport where they do practice flights etc. We also live behind a police station and firehouse so we are hearing sirens all the time. And they use our street as a get through to the main streets sometimes.

We lived by the beach, which has lots more activity than where we live now. The city had some ultra quiet helicopters, so if you were sound asleep when something started happening, you could spontaneously wake up with a huge spotlight shining on you in bed. It didn't really happen that often, but when it did . . .
