Just found this boiled wool at Mood. Not that I want you all to buy it out before I finish my morning coffee, but isn't that rather inexpensive for boiled wool? Has anyone ever purchased it from there, by any chance?

Not necessarily, although it might be difficult to find boiled wool at a lot less than $18 yd. Notice that the rayon/wool blend is more expensive...the black wool at $18 is described as heavy. It may be a bit more scratchy as well. I imagine that the blends are smoother and finer in texture. They are described as medium weight vs. heavy so they would be lighter weight as well.

Are you planning to use it for a coat or outerwear? Then maybe some scratchiness isn't a big deal.

The only way to tell if it's a good deal is to order a swatch. Actually, I would also order a swatch of the rayon/wool blended boiled wool to compare!

HTH and let us know what you find out. The colors in the rayon/wool blend look beautiful.

Thanks for the reply. I just ordered some swatches. Wish they didn't charge so much to ship them...

They don't charge anything to ship swatches by mail. Or at least they didn't when I ordered a few weeks ago.

Well, it's either a very new policy, or you charmed them :). It's on their shipping rates page, and they did indeed charge me $5.00 when I ordered the swatches online.
