Date: 12/1/11 1:33 PM Hi, I know there are quite a few members here who sew from Burda Magazine. As magazine issues are published it is always interesting to see what other members have sewn, or want to sew. I often have questions regarding specific model, or instructions... So, I thought having a forum where we can share all this would be a good idea. I hope you agree with me.
Organizing it by year seemed most convenient (and we can add more years if this takes off), so I hope we can have a fun place to chat and to brag about our Burda 2011 creations!

Date: 12/1/11 2:22 PM Sounds like fun I have had a pretty good year with Burda. Starting with the January issue, I made 3 pair of the leggings. You only have one pattern peice and it is sort of form fitting so it fit nicely. I made two Tunics one from 8 2011 and then one from 3-2011
I made a couple of dresses 06 2011 and a three tops from 6 2011 And I can't forget my military jacket entered in the Think Pink Contest military jacket
Burda is my go to place for patterns. I trace them on swedish sewing paper so they are more sturdy for reuse and I have to do so many alterations anyway, I might as well trace patterns before I use them. I don't even like rumaging through envelope patterns when I want to find soemthing. I pull out all my mags get a comfy spot on the sofa and just thumb through them I always find what I want plus a little more. |

Here's a photo of the first two pair. I have some red flannel that's in the laundry being prewashed. ------ Marilyn

Date: 12/5/11 3:09 PM Great idea! I have wanting to try a BurdaStyle mag pattern for awhile. I have started my first one by tracing a dress from 8/2011 (no 125). Have not finished it yet. Participating in a sew-along will be more motivation for me to finish and show it off! ------ Yay! I'm now a blogger!

Date: 12/6/11 6:45 PM I just bought several Burdas on a trip, and am gearing up to make my first item ever from one of their mags. When it's done I'll come back and post! A little intimidated by the tracing...... ------ Viking Lily 545
