Date: 12/1/11 8:54 PM I hope to soon sew a swing coat that is a Vintage Vogue Retro pattern. Are these patterns just re issued, same as the originals or are they updated to today's pattern sizing? In other words, would I buy the size I always do and make my usual alterations?
These patterns are a new experience for me and I appreciate any imput you have. I plan to use Vogue 1083.Vogue 1083 -- Edited on 12/1/11 8:54 PM -- ------ http://lasewist.blogspot.com/ |

Date: 12/1/11 9:01 PM They are updated to modern sizing as far as I can tell and just have less ease then modern ones. It might just be my body, too, but it seems I have a lot more fitting to do with them then the originals. |

Date: 12/2/11 10:31 AM They use current sizing...
but as always, check your measurements against the sizing on the envelopes! :) ------ A bad day in the sewing room is better than a good day at the office.

Date: 12/13/11 4:58 PM that's funny--i have the opposite experience and find they have extra ease to compensate for the fact that they were re-drawn for a modern audience! YMMV, of course, and definitely check your measurements against the bust and waist measurements printed on the pattern. i've had to do extensive alterations on all 3 reprint patterns i've used, but i've still enjoyed every one of them! ------ puu
