Hi. I'm new to this site, and I need some help with a Burda pattern. I've never sewn one before. I downloaded the 11/2011 Burda Blazer with Cape Back pattern. It has 5 different sizes, but I don't know what those sizes are because they are not marked. I would like to add the seam allowances and cut the pattern out, but I want to make sure I'm cutting at the right places. Can anyone help me? I am a size 14 in American patterns.

Thanks so much!

It would help if you had posted a link. Here it is:
Pattern

If you look at the details, the pattern comes in sizes 72, 76, 80, 84, 88. These are Burda's Tall sizes. There is a link to the sizing chart: Size Chart, which I can see is not very helpful in this case, as they haven't included the tall sizes.

Basically the Talls size number correspond to regular sizes that are half the number. To explain further, 72 is a tall version of 36, 76 is a tall 38, and so on to 88 which is a tall 44.

So take your measurements, and consult the size chart, and work from there.

If you are having trouble working out which line is which on the pattern, 72 will be the smallest line, (innermost line at the bust, for example, but possibly outermost at the neckline) and 88 will be the largest one, and the others will be in order.

Yes, I can see now that I should have posted a link. So sorry about that omission.

Thank you so much for your detailed instructions. This helps me immensely.
