Date: 12/5/11 0:54 AM Hello, I just bought an old Pfaff sewing machine and it only came with the standard foot. I have been trying to figure out what feet I can get/use that are made now? Anyone have a clue? Haven't been able to find any original feet so far, really hoping I can use a newer type foot..

Subject: Pfaff 1197 (made 1973) -looking for pressure feet Date: 12/5/11 1:13 AM You need part 98-694581-00.
It's a bit expensive.
Here is the manual, if you need a copy. -- Edited on 12/5/11 1:18 AM -- |

Subject: Pfaff 1197 (made 1973) -looking for pressure feet Date: 12/6/11 12:04 PM You do not particularly need the shank part, but then you will have to comb eBay and contact dealers for feet to fit you 1197. I do have an 1199, and also a 1222E and they use the same feet. So you can use feet for the entire 1200 line would be my guess. A good source for the shank and the feet if you decide to go modern feet on a shank is Brubaker's sewing in PA. Good people.
Snap on shank
Good luck. :) ------ "Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible."

Subject: Pfaff 1197 (made 1973) -looking for pressure feet Date: 12/6/11 12:30 PM I second Brubaker's in PA as a super dealer. Very knowledgeable, trustworthy. I've heard good things about AccuSew in Milwaukee, but I've never yet used them. ------ Berninas 820 QE, Artista 630 PQE, Aurora 440 QE, Activa 240, 930 Record, and 731 Baby Lock Quest Plus, Featherweight 221s... |

Subject: Pfaff 1197 (made 1973) -looking for pressure feet Date: 12/7/11 11:02 PM It would be nice to be able to find the old feet. I'll keep an eye on ebay...and if I can't find anything I'll get that part so I can use the newer feet.
Thank you so much for all of your replies. |

Subject: Pfaff 1197 (made 1973) -looking for pressure feet Date: 12/13/11 4:46 PM You won't find feet that fit in the generic feet game. If you want today's Pfaff feet, get that adapter shank from Brubaker's. Generic feet will not fit - believe me - high shank is what the machine is, but that will not effect a fit in the generic feet. For example - there is NO generic foot for quilting at all that will fit this line of Pfaffs. I have looked and even talked with Brubaker's. If you want feet - you either need to get the originals off eBay or from a dealer (and Pfaff dealers do not usually care to hear about this line of machines, as Pfaff dropped that support especially after Pfaff became bought out).
Again, a call to Brubaker's might just find you some feet. I know there are other dealers out there who also have some old Pfaff stuff, and I did get a foot pedal for the 1199 from a mid-western dealer of eBay. When I go home I will look for his card, and let you know that name and business. :) ------ "Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible."

Subject: Pfaff 1197 (made 1973) -looking for pressure feet Date: 12/14/11 10:58 AM And even if they say they have a foot that will fit, well...
Here's what I did - I called Brubaker's and asked the lady to try the foot someone told me would fit on an actual 1200 series machine - they took the time to do that, and it didn't fit. So I owe them business for sure - that's going beyond what most would do. Calling is sometimes a better option than email. All these dealers online have their numbers, and most have 800 numbers as well.
Good luck!
