Date: 12/5/11 1:21 PM Hello, i'm new to this site and am thrilled to have discovered it. i am wondering if there is anyone who can help me by sending me the measurements and shape of a missing piece. the piece is the #9 (cuff) for the Vogue 8919 Men's shirt.
I would make the piece myself, but, the bottom of the sleeve looks very curvy in several places. If it's actually straight, then i can make it myself. i would love it if anyone has this and can confirm.
Best regards, Dotiana |

Date: 12/5/11 1:36 PM It looks like a 1980's pattern to me. The missing cuff pattern would just be a straight rectangle of fabric, I believe. Even if it was missing out of your old pattern evelope. IOf you were not missing the pattern instructions, you could look at that and tell from that too.
If the bottom of the actual sleeve pattern piece looks curvy on the bottom edge of it, that does make any difference, that is just so it would be a bit longer maybe on the backside of the sleeve and along where the sleeve placket went and drape better when on someone and give more length and sort of elbow room in length there, but even if so, it still fits onto and gets sewn onto I'm guessing just a straight rectangular cuff piece, folded over in half, so it makes up the shirt sleeve cuff. If you are missing a piece out of an old pattern envelope, I think your only choices are to just make one up yourself, use the cuff pattern piece from another shirt pattern you might have laying around, or maybe just google it, and re-buy the old out of print pattern all over again from someone else that is trying to sell it over the internet now. |

Date: 12/5/11 3:54 PM Thank you, Beauturbo. This helps tremendously! it looks in the instructions that the edges of the cuff are straight. And, now, with your explanation, the curves at the bottom of the sleeve make sense. i'm soooo happy to have heard from you. |
