Date: 12/6/11 2:06 PM I'm thinking I'll make my dd's little friend (5 yo) a Christmas apron and chef's hat from a snowman print cotton. They're always buying her something and I'd like to reciprocate, so... Thing is, the little girl has a little brother (4 yo) and the gifts to my dd are always from both children, so I want to include brother too. Would a little boy also like a snowman apron and chef's hat? Maybe with a packet of cookie mix and tube of icing for doing Santa's cookies? |

Subject: An apron and chefs hat for a little boy? Date: 12/6/11 4:34 PM I made one for my nephew when he was 5 and included some cookie mix. I embroidered his name on the chefs hat. I made the apron out of a print with chocolate chip cookies and made matching pot holders for his mom.(my sister) I used a free pattern on 'you can make this.com' for the chef's hat ------
My grandmother taught me to sew when I was 10, and I've been sewing ever since. |

Date: 12/7/11 12:08 PM I made my great nephew a chef's hat and apron out of a light weight white denim which, when opened led to the following: he put it on and ran to his sister's little kitchen and threw her flowered apron he had been wearing on the floor! So, yes. Chef's hat and apron for boys, too! I embroidered his name on front "Chef M----". I am going to make father/son one for his Christmas gift.

Date: 12/7/11 7:04 PM Yes! I made a white chef's hat and an apron for my dgs when he was about 4. His younger brother, who is now 4, asked for one when he was three. We have many cute pictures of the two of them cooking with me. They never cook without their hats and aprons, even though the older one is now 8. I put elastic in the hat's brim so it still fits him. Out of all of the things that I have sewn for them, the aprons, chef's hats, and holiday pillowcases have been the biggest hits. |
