Date: 12/12/11 11:16 PM Oh My Gosh. I just heard that Kwik sew is merging with McCall's! one of the list I am on said that Kwik Sew patterns were being held up because "Kwik Sew is merging with McCall's." Life as I know it has ended. ------ JanieV |

Subject: Kwik sew merging with McCalls Date: 12/12/11 11:57 PM Yes it is true. I had a chat with Kwik Sew and it seems only the fulfillment has shifted to McCall's. The design department will still be at Kwik Sew. Lets keep our fingers crossed though. ------ - Deepika

Oh thank goodness! I almost fell off my chair when I read they were merging. I would be bitterly disappointed if they did. Kwik Sew is different and unique. I wouldn't want them to become like all the other companies. Thanks for clarifying Deepika.------ Belinda. Melbourne, Australia

Date: 12/13/11 0:45 AM Maybe Kwik Sew can teach McCall's a thing or two about writing pattern instructions for knits. ------ Judy |

This is good to know as I really like the Kwik Sew paper. It has got thinner over the years but I actually prefer it now. Fingers crossed there aren't too many changes.------ Belinda. Melbourne, Australia

Date: 12/13/11 4:20 AM I'm another that would be sad to lose Kwik Sew to the big 4! I haven't used that many Kwik Sew patterns through the years, but have always liked the simplicity - yet good design of their patterns. The first ones I used were the lingerie patterns from way back in the 60's and 70's. At that time, lingerie sewing was a big thing - and this was before sergers really made it on the scene in a big way. Kristin Martenson really made the company unique at its time and it still is. I really would hate to see them lose that quality! I have all her books on sewing and found so many unique techniques. ------ Sewing in Wild, Wonderful West Virginia
