Date: 12/18/11 1:45 PM Back at the end of October, I decided to make a dear friend a quilt for Christmas.
In early spring we had somehow got to talking quilts and he told me he really likes quilts, but after searching for years, he could not find one he liked enough to put on his bed. He has a Cali King sized bed and complained that the quilts were never big enough, he likes lots of overhang. His other main complaint was that all quilts seem to have flowers in the print.
Gave him his gift at a Christmas party last night and he really really likes it. Not a flower in sight! The only print on the quilt is a white and grey collage of watches (he collects watches)

Pulled out my magnifying glass and was surprised at how rich the white and gray collage watch print is. It is really beautiful.

Date: 12/18/11 6:54 PM How did he react when you gave it to him? You said he really liked it, so what was his reaction the no flowers theme? It is really pretty. Looks very rich in colors.
I hope to make a small one of these next year. ------ Quilting is relaxing to me. I love to play with fabrics, patterns and colors.

Date: 12/18/11 7:59 PM Wow! What a nice gift, and large squares for your Irish chain--makes it much easier, doesn't it? I'm sure your friend is thrilled. ------ "We don't impose our rhythm on Nature. The key is to respect and live within Her." Jean-Charles Boisset, Winemaker
