Fabric ideas for unlined spring jacket

I want washable and comfortable, but not denim so I can wear it with jeans too. Something neutral would be great, but so far I can only come up with the idea of gray twill. And I haven't actually found any yet. I made a wearable muslin of this last spring and want to do a nicer final version. Any thoughts? -- Edited on 12/19/11 7:12 PM -- ------ Melanie
