Date: 12/19/11 11:30 PM Michaels Fabrics has some very nice shirting (and I think they have a sale going on now). I purchased some Zegna cottons, and cotton/linen & silks during one of their previous sales, and it's the nicest shirting I've purchased so far. (Haven't used any yet, think I'll let it age a bit while I hone my skills before I chance cutting and sewing with it - lol).
I have no idea how expensive shipping from the US would be for you though. There's a link at the top of PR for Michaels Fabrics if you want to check it out.
ETA: They usually have fabrics not listed on their website and are quite happy to send samples (mailers) out, at least in the US. NAYY, just a satisfied customer. -- Edited on 12/19/11 11:54 PM -- |

Date: 12/20/11 7:28 AM Our local fabric warehouse carries beautiful "Italian shirting" that is finely woven and soft but slightly crisp. When I Googled "Italian shirting fabric" I see that FFC and Vogue have some shirtings imported from Italy. That would be where I would start. ------ Barb
