I think it's really sad that our elected congressmen and women couldn't come together and vote the payroll tax extension and unemployment bill that will affect MILLIONS before going off to enjoy their holiday season where they won't be worrying about their decrease in income, or worrying about how they are going to make their already shrinking income meet their bills. I find it absolutely DISGUSTING. Both dems and GOP you don't deserve any of our votes!

Not to sound like I support the government too much here -- I don't, I think that they are getting close to being criminal in action and negligence. However, they are closer to the bills, and I know that many bills are crammed full of non-sequitors and line items that aren't good for anyone. It could be that this bill was so full of riders as to be crippled.

Im watching the White House Twitter feed today... people are tweeting what #40Dollars per paycheck could mean for them...The answers are interesting and the things some folks may have to go without are certainly not the concerns of Congress which is why they are on vacation and folks who need that $40 are likely at work today trying to balance a checkbook

This is an attempt to make the current admin look bad. It's all politics, and is despicable.

Unfortunately, are elected officials are too comfortable in their positions. We re-elect them year after year, so they no longer feel the need to actually care about their constituents. When we start voting them out of office for pulling stunts like this, we might actually see a change.

The disconnect is appalling..... even people who have jobs struggle. We have a sec'y who is supporting 4 generations... her mother, herself, her daughter and g-daughter. And her payroll taxes may go up while we (as a society) protect the "job creators" from increased taxes? Wow.

Have you all heard about the trend where strangers are going into kmarts and paying off other people's holiday layaway accounts? there's the flip side of the coin, the warm-hearted, generous, kind people who are doing these simple and generous acts to make others lives better.

What is wrong with our politicians?

We have only ourselves to blame....
