Date: 12/21/11 11:36 AM Time to think about what we want to accomplish next year. Here's my (long) list:
1. Mark pattern number info on inside of sewn items.
2. Sew a pair of jeans.
3. Finish piecing 2 quilt tops I have started & have them quilted.
4. Read my sewing books & Threads magazines.
5. Use more presser feet.
6. Re-pad dress form.
7. Finish (or toss) UFO's.
8. Reduce stash.

1. Finish UFO's
2. Reduce Stash
3. three hours per week of sewing and/or mending, cutting, pinning, et al
4. Master a new technique ( I dont want to say weekly, monthly, quarterly but I simply dont want to shy away from harder techniques because I'm intimidated by the complication factor)
5. new summer work clothes wardrobe, all sewn by yours truly. ------ http://mamazsewingescapadez.blogspot.com/ |

Date: 12/21/11 11:45 AM Hmm, those are good! Mine would include
1) reduce stash
2) buy patterns only to use with fabric I already own
3) de-pad dress form (which will mean losing some weight
)
4) declutter sewing space, and then
5) re-arrange sewing space
6) use more presser feet (that's a really good one. thx for idea...)
7) think less, sew more.... ------ Viking Lily 545

Date: 12/21/11 1:39 PM Think and plan less and sew more. If I really got myself organized I could sew everyday. But even 3 times a week would be better then now. ------ quiltingwolf.blogspot.com |

Date: 12/21/11 2:06 PM Sew down my stash. Learn how to make a lined jacket. I've made a few and all have been ugly/ill fitting, with the exception of the jackets I made my daughter. ------ Erin in Dallas

Date: 12/21/11 2:17 PM I'd like to learn to do a better job of pre-fitting my patterns. I plan to explore tissue fitting to see if that works better than my present method which is to measure me and then measure the pattern. For some reason, this is just not working well even when I'm careful to allow for sewing and fitting ease as noted on the pattern. ------ Plumm |

Date: 12/21/11 5:13 PM You have a very good list! It is hard to believe 2012 is very fast approaching.
1. Sew from the fabric I have.. which means more organizing
2. Learn a good way to insert zippers.
3. Finish quilts in progress.. I now have 3 started ...
4. Make a jean jacket for myself... I have been wanting to do that for a long time.
5. Go through all the stash & organize it better ... hope this prevents repeat buying. ------ I am a gal from Kalamazoo.... oh what a gal... smile.... It is in Michigan... la la la ...love that Glen Miller classic!

2. Finish up or toss/recycle all pending Projects In Grocery Sacks (PIGS).
3. Set up a sewing/music studio.
With my work schedule, this will keep me busy all year. -- Edited on 12/21/11 5:25 PM -- |
