MIL looking at the Pfaff Grand Quilter 18.8 for her quilting frame to allow a wider area to quilt her quilts. Does anyone have one and what do you think about it? Who makes it?? Any other suggestions for a long arm quilter without breaking the bank??

It's very similar to a TinLizzie 18LS

Wow andye, I had no idea. This makes it more appealing, and dear mil was offered an outstanding, almost fainting can't believe its real deal on the pfaff. Thansk for the info....I will be studying it out today.

Thanks for the idea Portland Maine. I will mention it to mil, and see if we can play awhile on it next week.

Sorry my sentence made no sense.

Im terrible with grammar. But, it looks like you got the gist anyhow. They have the machine w/o the computer set up so its all free motion instead of the computer - but I gather that is an add on you can buy later if you want.

I love the the things I see people do with those machines - I am feather crazy - cant make one to save my life - but LOVE the way other people can do feathers.

The owner of the Pfaff shop says she likes using the 18.8 - they had a grand quilter set up b-4 ... the 18.8 is def better than that for the bigger designs.

With mil 450 Bernina, it will only allow a 4 inch pattern, with the PGQ
it will do over a 12 inch block....will go Monday.....such a great deal, but still sooooooooo much money.

Update: MIL called Wednesday to order one, they were sold out....but the good news is they honored the price and ordered her one....now we have quilts to quilt & practice on (I have been saving as the quilters are more than I chose to afford right now) and the machine won't be here till next week!!! Should have purchased one in the store last Friday!! Oh well, this is giving me time to somewhat organize the sewing area and get ready for the fabric stash contest....so many ideas, so little time to sew!!

Thanks for you alls comments!!
