Hi all,

My dds and I continually struggle with covered buttons that don't seem to work properly. It is hard to get the fabric to properly adhere to the button shape, and then once you do finally get them put together they last a couple washes and then they have come apart!

The only brand I have found availabe is Dritz. Does anyone have suggestions or solutions for me?

thanks so much

I have had the same problem. I'm going to send mine to Pat's custom Buttons and Belts - 537 York Street, P.O. Box 335, Lodi Ca 95241.

My suggestion is to cut the fabric circle slightly larger than than called for.

For buttons falling apart, I think I've seen a tip to use hot glue on the back after assembling. I'd guess they mean the high-temp hot glue, or I don't know that I'd put it in the dryer.

Another tip I know I've seen it to wet the fabric and then put it on the form. Or to use a bit of double sided tape between fabric and form. At least it would help hold the fabric while folding to the back side.

It's been a looooong time since I've used these, have they gone down-hill that badly? Not that I'd be suprised, I did just pick up a few on 50% notions wall a couple of months ago, just to have on hand.
