Okay, I don't like to make fun of people in public but this question came up years ago on another forum (back before Ravelry) so I think maybe I am safe to tell it here. Something I just heard put me in mind of it and I wanted to give you guys a laugh.

TRUE STORY:

Gal writes a question to a knitting forum, "Can anyone help me find a pattern for a white cardigan? I have searched and searched and I can't find one. All the cardigan patterns I find are different colors that I don't like".

That is a winner! Unfortunately, that idea may not be so rare: my friends who owned a lys said that many customers would ONLY make a sweater with the specific yarn and colors shown in the pattern picture! No substitutions were even considered.

That is a winner! The gentleman who travels around telling about the Lutterloh pattern making system says he would like the book of patterns to be in black and white only, as some have told him that they liked the outfit but wouldn't sew it because it was in a color that they didn't like.

By the way, did she ever find a pattern for a white sweater because I would like one also.

Is this for real? You mean there are other people who think the pattern has to be made ONLY in the color/yarn/fabric shown in the picture?

OMG! I thought this chick was one of a kind.
