I'm getting ready to trace my first top after my son was born 4 months ago. I need to make a few t-shirt tops as I'm really lacking in nice but comfy clothes to wear now.

I never really decided on what size Burda I was before, a 36 or 38 but I think the 36 was usually a better fit. I haven't made all that many items, but I don't remember ever needing to do a small bust adjustment on my A cup pre-baby self.

My measurements now are 33" high bust, 36" full bust--a small C cup.

For the Burda knit tops, will I need to make a FBA or are they usually roomy enough?

Thanks!

eta: just remeasured myself--35"-35.5" is probably a better bust measurement.

I think you're probably good to go without any kind of change. I'm a solid D not nursing and I rarely have to add anything in their knit tops. If you're nervous about it, give yourself some extra seam allowance in the side seams and you can borrow from them if you need the extra room.

Thanks Elizabeth! Good idea about just leaving extra room in the side seams.

It'll probably take quite a few days to trace, cut and sew--I'm only sewing during the few naps he takes. Hopefully someday he'll sleep enough of the night that I can get up early and sew! :)

I'm all about naptime sewing. You'd be amazed how much you can get done in that little bit of time. Good luck.
