Date: 1/5/12 4:38 PM Maybe I'm telling you this out of a subconscious hope that you'll go buy it all out from under me, and then I won't have to worry about it... My stash is so big, yet somehow I have nothing fancy...
Fabricmart has a few silks at a deep discount right now, among them a couple of "sand" colored silk shantungs. At $6/yard, it sounds like a good deal. Why shouldn't I pick up 2 to 3 yards to stash for some kind of special occasion outfit.... The color and fabric should go with lots of things, and most seasons. Um, right? I'm not all that fashion savvy...
Of course, if I do that, there are a few other things I've been looking at, and then of course I'd be close to the $75 threshold for the free 6-yard bundle.... which I don't need and usually don't even like. Hmm.
Maybe I can really just buy the two or three things I think I can use, and "run"... or maybe I'll just buy nothing? Maybe there is a reason this fabric is so cheap? ------ Twitter: @SewKnitStash |

Oh yeah been there done that I just made a $75 purchase yesterday. You know fabric Mart is a really good deal when you start pricing RTW clothing. And if oru gonna order might as well get a mystery bundle!!!
I didn't even notice but DH says he has put on weight and only has a couple pair of pants that fit. It's funny he starts out by looking at cargo pants online then starts saying do think this is too expensive the next thing I know I am getting cargo pants fabric.

Date: 1/5/12 7:41 PM Well, if I could sew fancy pants for DH maybe I'd be less worried about the size of my stash . But I sew VERY slowly, and have many, many projects in my queue.
I've decided to forgo the fluff and just get a few yards of shantung for a wedding we're supposed to go to next spring Seems like a very good deal, and Mom agrees, so that's something.

Date: 1/5/12 10:48 PM I will not buy any of that out from under you. We visited their brick and mortar store in PA, and I got out of there with a heap of fabric for a ridiculously low price. Kind of like the "Start the car" Ikea commercial. Nope, not doing it.

Date: 1/6/12 10:06 AM Right now, I'm not seeing much fabric anywhere on line or in person that I can't live without. I like some of the stuff currently for sale at Fabric Mart, I just don't LOVE anything. ------ Erin in Dallas

Date: 1/6/12 11:39 AM I just did an order myself for 2 yards of slip fabric and apron ones. I can't resist the sales either.
Nope, not going to try to even help. |
