Did anyone else watch the first episode of Project Runway All Stars. The last couple seasons of Project Runway have been so disappointing. It was so good to see some great looks with excellent execution coming down the runway.

And it was really great to see some of my favorites. I'm looking forward to the rest of the season. If you are a previous fan who has given up on the show, you might want to give this one a try.

I agreed with the top two and bottom two, and I thought the top two were pretty amazing given that they were made in less than 24 hours with dime store materials. And I could have gone either way for the winner and loser. I won't say more in case people haven't watched it.

I was on board until I saw Isaac mizrahi show. He is a mean, nasty man and I won't watch him.

My hope is to sew to the very end. They'll find my head slumped over my precious Kenmore 19606 and have to pry the seam ripper from my cold, dead hands.

Mandolin I'm 100% with everything you said.

This is very promising - it's SO nice to have a complete lineup of talented designers. And I really think this may be the first time ever that I've agreed with the top 3 and the bottom 3. I also agree that it could have gone either way with the top & bottom 2 (although I would have been disappointed if the other designer had gone home, because I do like her.....but her design this week....not so much....)

Wish you had started this thread earlier in the week.. I missed the show.. Wasn't aware it had already started..

I do look forward to watching it. there isn't much on TV anymore as it is.. Not sure about 24 hour catwalk.. thats a new twist..
I haven't given up on the show.. as there isn't much else on. but just kinda keep it in the background in my sewing room.. then I can glance up if it seems interesting at any given moment.

However. and maybe someone can clue me in since we are on the subject.. I have read posts on the other thread. about how so and so is such a good sewer etc.. and have to wonder why they post that. I mean really.. we are never shown a close up of their work.. never seen a seam shown that I can recall close up.. so I think we are assuming things based on what others say on the show.. could be its true.. or not.. YOu can't tell from looking at a finished garment walking down a runway on a TV set.. or at least I can't .. They could be stapled together from all I can tell from so far away.

Going to check and see if it's on demand. I got an email about earlier in the week but I was distracted by events.

You can see the episodes the day after they air on mylifetime.com. I don't have TV reception so I watch all my TV online.

It's on mylifetime.com for replay. Summary, the designers showed up for the first show bringing a recent look, and the first challenge was to make something from dollar store items that reflected their recent look. Budget was $100 and I think they got one day.

I just watched it. I am hopeful for effing April to do effing great since she's had some time in the business (it's just me but I liked that she swore like a dockworker) but I would be hugely disappointed if Mondo wasn't in the final.

I'm not sure of how many of these contestants got to show at fashion week, officially or not. I'll go research.

If I'm correct, Mondo is the only one who was subject to the "new" judging which put being a brand over actual technical talent . Or, everyone knows how to sew on this show and construction errors are going to matter.

Mr. Mizrahi must be on his best behavior because his comments were not nasty (as far as I remember). I think most of the judging seemed helpful and pertinant. Rather than just for witty sound bites.

In Canada, it will air on Slice, starting this Monday, at 10 p.m. So I have yet to see the first episode.

I love Issac Mizrahi, and always have. In interviews, snarky aside, the man has valid points about sewing being a necessity in the industry and how many designers don't do it.

He is the main reason I'll watch this season, aside from one of my favorite designers being included.
