Date: 1/7/12 8:23 PM My grown son needs a cape as a joke item but I want it to look like a real super hero cape. I'm thinking shiney black material with a similar lining, any ideas? |

Date: 1/9/12 8:57 AM Use a polyester satin. If it's made of decent fabric that is washable it will be around for many years and will be popular, loaned out and used for years! I would line it with a black to make it reversable and, as important, versitile as it can then be a super hero, vampire or magician cape. So washable is real important! I made a "monk's robe" out of cheap polyester double knit for my DH who "loved" dress up parties" (sarcasm) that was on constant loan since it was an instant costume and one size fits all. In fact, my DH kept it in his closet since guys would call him directly requesting it!
So washable and reversible is the way to go. I make kids capes more semi circle like a magician since they love the swish. ------ JanieV |
