Date: 1/8/12 11:01 PM There is more TV programs on Hulu Plus, old shows.. but not very many movies. So it depends on what you like. ...We have gotten rid of both & use Red Box DVDs sometimes it cost less right now. We have a Converter box & get local, PBS 3 stations, CW & Me TV. ------ I am a gal from Kalamazoo.... oh what a gal... smile.... It is in Michigan... la la la ...love that Glen Miller classic!

Date: 1/8/12 11:20 PM We use both, since they seem to provide different services, as tgm and Kittys said. I tend to actually use Hulu Plus more, for The Daily Show and stuff like that, but I think it's pretty clunky the way they insert the ads. You can get a feel for how it works by watching some of the free shows on the website. |

Date: 1/9/12 7:14 AM Not sure what we're going to do. My son just bought a Hulu + 3-month membership via a gift card, and he got a Roku box that will let us stream video from Amazon. I believe Amazon has tier pricing, which I'm not a fan of. We'll try it out and see. I'm not convinced yet that we'll drop Netflix to stream videos from Amazon.
If any video service just had streaming video for $2-$3/movie all the time, I'd sign up in a heartbeat. ------ Big 4 Pattern size 12, RTW bottom: 6, RTW jacket 8, RTW top (no size fits me well!)

Date: 1/9/12 10:42 AM Love HuluPlus... in addition to movies, you can get all the season episodes of past TV programs (even those way back in the 80s). In addition to TV programs you can also get documentaries, Gaia (exercise/yoga epsiodes, etc.) I also have Netflix. I stream both Netflix and HuluPlus on Roku. With Roku you can also add additional channels such as Amazon, Pandora, CNBC, Pandora, Vimeo etc..
Hope this helps.

Date: 1/9/12 12:53 PM The regular Hulu, as in not Hulu Plus, is free on the computer and you don't even need to register if you don't want to. There are lots of TV shows and movies at that level and is a good way to get a feel for what Hulu has to offer. Hulu Plus has more and I think you need Hulu Plus to play through a Roku box. ------ Liz

Date: 1/9/12 12:54 PM We rent all our movies on our AppleTV, and watch all our TV via Hulu plus, it streams to our BlueRay player. We dropped our satellite package 2 years ago and never looked back.
It's not perfect, but it works well enough.
