I read on one site that this machine is from the 80's. I thought it was older. Couldn't find out much more on the history. Just parts and how to thread etc.

When I use to sell machines in the 80's the Merritt's were not considered the best of Singer's line. Several sales people bad mouthed the Merritts and I don't remember now the reason why. I never sewed on one and cannot comment on them. Maybe somebody that owns one can vouch for them.
