Date: 1/9/12 6:14 PM I love this dress that Jennifer Garner is wearing. It is described as being made from tweed fabric.
I have looked everywhere online I can think of for some similar fabric--not too expensive. I want to replicate this dress. I can't tell but it looks like the trim is leather. I can't find any white tweed that is speckled in black. I have literally gone down the list of stores on the first post of this message board looking and can't come up with anything. Has anyone seen any similar fabric?

Also, I had the idea that if I couldn't find any similar fabric, I could do something a little different. I could use this lightweight boucle instead and trim it in some silvery gray pleather I have. What do you think?

Date: 1/9/12 10:29 PM As can be seen in the description, this de la Renta dress is done up in a lightweight but nubbly fabric with beads, touches of chiffon (!), and net. It is not the embodiment of the standard notion of tweed, which is generally a roughish wool.
This photo shows the nubbly texture of the fabric.

Date: 1/18/12 11:48 AM I just found this from Moodfabrics. It is not white, but it is very light gray and has black slubs. I am thinking about getting it. Any thought? I linked to the fabric but here is a pic.

Date: 1/19/12 11:51 AM Fabric looks nice but what is the content ? If you want those pleats
on the skirt the fabric needs to take a sharp crease. |
