Date: 1/11/12 10:17 PM Last year I made little heart pillows w/their names on. Grandson is now 1 year old and grandaughter 3. Made her a Valentine dress year before. They live in Seattle so a sundress is out. What can I make that will good for both boy and girl? I am all out of ideas. ------ It is common sense to take a method and try it. Date: 1/11/12 11:24 PM A three-year-old girl is old enough to LOVE having things with her name on them. How about a couple of adorable pillowcases in girly fabrics (or with a favorite animal) with her name?
The boy is a little young yet, so anything you make is really for his mommy anyway, ------ Barb |

Date: 1/11/12 11:41 PM Thought I saw some 'paper dolls' to embroider.
Your own version of 'Feltkid' type playset.
Still like what I call play quilts.
Stuffed kid proof blocks with letters to spell their names.
Coordinated fleece hats. (Maybe for the whole family.)
Something with those crazy monkeys on them.
Cozy hooded after bath towels.
Hand puppets? You could add to this each holiday.
Compact sturdy totes with their names.
Pillowcases.
***Growth charts.
Have fun! ------ I have no idea what Apple thought I was saying so be a Peach and credit anything bizarre to auto correct. |

Date: 1/12/12 9:06 PM I think I ust saw this one today. It had a pattern for a tote bag w/a cut out embridered owl. There was no free owl design however but I saved the link to persuse later. I love owls too. Hand Puppets I have done already, pillow cases I've done. The fabric blocks w/letters of their name on it sounds interesting. I could even use a little valentine fabric somewhere on it or a couple of hearts. What they would cost to mail is a concern though as they are bulky. ------ It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. Date: 1/12/12 9:47 PM Could you mail the fabric blocks without the stuffing? ------ I have no idea what Apple thought I was saying so be a Peach and credit anything bizarre to auto correct. |

Date: 1/24/12 6:38 AM The three year old is old enough to enjoy a handbag, like mommy has. (A glorified tote bag really.)
Or, how about customised aprons for them both to wear while helping mommy, or doing messy play. |

Date: 1/26/12 9:44 PM I got as far as buying felt squares in 2 tone for the sides, since I have an embroidery machine too I thoughty I may try putting each initial on one side. They both have 4 letter names. ------ It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something. ~ Franklin D Roosevelt 1843
