Date: 1/13/12 10:27 AM We moved last month & I am wondering do our favorite sewing catalogues get forwarded OR do I have to sign up for them all over again? There are a couple I get I do like but cannot remember the name even.... one is mostly dry cleaning items but it has wonderful buttons, snaps & etc. ....
So will they come automatically or no? I have had 2 magazines forwarded so far.... Saturday Evening Post & my final issue of Sew News. ...
thank you so much for the info. ............ you know our post office says they no longer handle that information.... ------ I am a gal from Kalamazoo.... oh what a gal... smile.... It is in Michigan... la la la ...love that Glen Miller classic!

Date: 1/13/12 10:33 AM Did you send in a change of address notification to the various magazines?
In Canada when you move you go to the post office and fill out a mail forward card. This has your mail forwarded to you from your old address for 3 months or more.
During this time you have to contact all the senders and update your information. After the end of the mail forward term, mail sent to your old address will be returned to sender. ------ Proud parent of a Dwight International School Honour Roll Student |

Date: 1/13/12 11:50 AM As Michelle said, you need to send a change of address to each magazine & catalogue you want to continue receiving. They either are not forwarded or you will have to pay a fee to pick them up at the post office. |

Date: 1/13/12 3:26 PM I think magazines get forwarded, but catalogs do not. You'll have to send the catalog your new address if you want to remain on their mailing list.
On a different note, anyone know what's the name of that catlog with the buttons and snaps? I'm always looking to get new interesting catalogs in the mail. ------ Tina

Date: 1/14/12 0:01 AM Most catalogs keep going to your old address until you contact the company to make a change of address. The address labels often say Your Name or current resident so the company is hoping the new resident at your old address will order from the catalog which gives the company a new customer with no advertising effort expended. When you order using your new address the company simply adds your new address to their mailing list. Unless you specifically tell them to change your address. ------ Liz

Sewliz is closest to the answer here Kitty.. It really depends on the classification of the mail.. and this type is usually done by bulk mail. If it says resident on it.. the PO will leave it at the old address most likely. Which action the PO takes depends on what the company paid the PO to do with their bulk mail..
If your catalogs etc fall under that ''junk mail'' category you may not have them forwarded..
Best to notify all your catalog suppliers and magazines of your new address. Its the only way to guarantee you will still get them.. |
