Date: 1/14/12 11:30 AM Now that I can tape any TV shows I want, I was wondering what sewing television people have found to watch. I want to make a list so I can tape them. Most of the ones I've found are on PBS:
Sewing with Nancy,
Sew It All - this is a new one.
It's Sew Easy
Quilting Arts
Does anyone know any others I can search for? ------ Janel |

I REALLY miss Alex Anderson's old quilting show! Whatever happened to that one? She was great. |

Date: 1/14/12 1:08 PM Freebies also include Martha Pullen, Nancy Zieman, Eleanor Burns.
Nancy has interesting guests and has a book for sale for every episode.
Eleanor has a story to go along with her quilting - how she can keep track of what she is doing as she talks about another subject is mind boggling. She also has a book to sell for every show.
Don't watch Martha as the show provides very little in the details of the projects or techniques presented.
It's Sew Easy is not that great. I record and watch anyway.
Quilting Arts is artsy fartsy and I see very little "beauty" as often exclaimed by hostess Patrica Bolton of her guest's presentations. Still, I record and watch so I don't miss something that might be worthy of knowing.
There are more that you can subscribe to - Alex Anderson and Sandra Betzina are a couple. Both are super at their crafts.
OOPS - forgot Sue Hausman. Don't watch this anymore as it was starting to lean toward hawking products and very little in techniques and projects.

Date: 1/14/12 8:36 PM I used to love to watch Sandra Betzina, but don't know what channel she's on these days. She had a nice variety of projects and I thought she explained things well. |

Date: 1/16/12 3:34 PM Alex set up an internet site and had her show there for while. It was a pay site how to pay to see the shows. It was rather expensive. I used to like her show on HGTV. There is hardly anything on in our area anymore.

Date: 1/16/12 5:27 PM The "Sew on TV" website has a good selection of videos from several different sewing teaches--Like Emma Seabroke, Nancy Zieman, Pam Dambour, Sue Hauseman and on a variety of subjects. There is no cost and you can select from the list and watch at your leisure. |
