Date: 1/15/12 0:02 AM Somewhere or other I heard of the site, and their thread, but I don't know that I've seen it mentioned here on PR? Just wondering if there is anyone here who has ordered from them and if so what your opinion was of their threads? Thanks. |

Date: 1/15/12 8:16 AM I have never ordered from Connecting Threads but I have ordered from their sister yarn site, Knit Picks. Great quality for a great price. We were overseas when I frequently purchased yarn from them and I never had any issues.
I've been curious about CT as well, their prices look really great. ------ I'm finally a blogger!

Date: 1/15/12 9:20 AM I've ordered numerous fabrics and notions from them. They have a mid quality fabric. I have not ventured to buy their thread for that reason. I stick to Superior. Just my opinion. ------ Sewing: A creative mess is better than tidy idleness. ~Author Unknown

Date: 1/15/12 10:40 AM I have ordered some of their cotton thread for quilting. It is far cheaper and of equal quality to the name brand threads I had tried at my local quilt store.
The Connecting Thread fabrics are between what you find at Jo-Anns and the best quality fabrics you find at a local quilt store. But for the price, they work fine. ------ Elizabeth |

Date: 1/15/12 6:15 PM I love connecting threads. Their thread is wonderful, and my Bernina loves it.
Their fabric varies. Some is very thin, others very nice.
I order from them a TON |

Date: 1/15/12 7:25 PM I am a long time customer of Connecting Threads and they have great sales which cycle frequently. The Essential Thread they sell is Star Thread. It has a hefty wt for 50wt cotton. I have not tried their poly thread as I have a huge collection of Gutterman poly.
I don't use Essential Thread for piecing but for quilting even though it is quite linty. CT has a nice color selection and when they have thread sales I sometimes get a few spools. ------ Janome MC6600 Bernina 240 Juki MO735 Singer 201-2 Singer 221-1 Singer 15-91 |

I don't use Essential Thread for piecing but for quilting even though it is quite linty. Ahh, see, now this would be a problem for me. This is why I've been investigating other threads other than Coats & Clark (which I've always used heretofore). I don't have a problem with it per se, but it is so very linty and I was intrigued upon hearing good things about Mettler Metrosene not being linty. I then began investigating other good threads. I ran upon Essential Threads, but if it's linty. . .well, it's a no-go. Ahh, such is life. (It sure does have a nice color selection.) |

Date: 1/16/12 6:12 PM I don't find Essential to be linty at all. I only clean under the stitch plate ever 3 or 4 bobbins when I use it. |
